Our History
With 40+ years of experience and service to the marine industry, McRae Electric is a well-established marine electrical contracting and service company, in business since 1944 (current ownership since 1981) with a wide range of specialized expertise and very competent and qualified personnel.
We are experienced in new construction, major refits, conversions and manufacturing of marine electrical equipment (panel building).
Throughout the years McRae has been an integral part of shipyard’s and shipowners projects, acting as electrical integrators for new build vessels. For example, Large Ro-Ro Ferries, Coast Guard Ice Breakers, Tug Boats, OSVs as well as major conversions/refits for mid-life upgrades for many different types of vessels. Our service department provides day-to-day maintenance and in-service support for shipowners.
